One hundred thousand khmer language Bibles are required for church growth and the discipleship for new church members. In the last 5 years, more than 1,100 Churches have been planted around our Church Homes in Cambodia. Many of these church groups have to share a single Bible for an entire congregation, these Bibles are essential. Need: $8.00/ Bible, $600,000 Total

Just $12 is needed to provide an orphan with a set of school clothes. Uniforms are required for school attendance for all orphans in our church homes. We need a total of 2,500 school uniforms which includes one top, one slack or skirt, and one pair of shoes per child. Typically, we make sure we have enough funding to provide a uniform to every child in a Church Home, about $480, before the clothes are distributed, because we do not want a child to feel left out. 5kw diesel-powered electric generators. Cambodia does not have a central power system. Eighty percent of the Church Homes do not have access to any form of electricity. These single-cylinder, diesel generators are extremely fuel efficient and will supply a home with enough electricity to meet all of their basic needs. These systems support the energy requirements to incubate quail eggs and process waste for the Church Homes in rural locations. They generate electrical energy from the sun to charge a large battery that runs the incubator and the aeration system for sewage treatment. Need: $1,500 per system, $30,000 Total

Hogs are a well suited form of animal agriculture for Warm Blankets Church Homes. The hogs produce a desirable source of protein, they consume table waste and rice bran, and teach a sustainable and reproducible agricultural skill. The high water table in Cambodia, lack of sewage treatment systems and the concentration of 60 residents in one location make sewage treatment an ecological necessity for Warm Blankets Church Homes. We are committed to honoring and connect the orphans to the rich culture of their countries and communities. An important part of Cambodia’s cultural heritage is its traditional dance and music. This project will help orphans that have lost everything retain their national identity. For over a thousand years, dance and music have been the means through which religious, political, and social messages have been communicated. That is why these traditional art forms are becoming an important medium through which young Cambodian Christians effectively share their faith. Need: $1,650 per Home, $82,500 Total

Fish ponds are the primary step in the development of a self-sustaining, integrated food production cycle for the orphans and widows in the home. Many of the Church Homes built before 2003 are covered by inexpensive steel roofs that have rusted through and leak. These funds will purchase replacement roofs made of concrete/fiber material for five homes, each one housing a congregation of 100+ people and 40-50 permanent orphan residents. These food preparation and serving buildings for the Church Homes are 25 feet wide by 50 feet long. They have a tile floor and a fiber/concrete roof, and are used for Sunday school and various church functions, as well as food service. Need: $3,500 per building, $56,000 Total Needed

Eighty percent of Cambodians are farmers, but the land is completely deficient of natural resources for fertilizer to support a productive agriculture. The integrated agriculture system supported by Warm Blankets Orphan Care utilizes animal waste to sustain fish, rice, vegetable and fruit production, self-supporting basis. The Cambodian orphans consume almost 1.5 tons of rice per day. One means of saving on food cost is by purchasing raw rice directly from farmers and milling it. This requires about 30KW of electricity. A diesel powered generator is required to provide this power.

Warm Blankets Orphan Care is committed to caring for children until their 18th birthday. That does not mean that they are simply abandoned after that. The goal is to place them on a career track, either in ministry or in secular society that will help rebuild Cambodia as a Christian nation. Because of this, most of the young people are placed in a post high school training program. The money will be used to train them in various fields from auto-mechanics to Christian ministry to medical professions. All the training will take place in Cambodia at local institutions. Need: $10,000 per home, $630,000 Total.
